Uno de los encantos de visitar los pequeños pueblos de nuestra provincia son sus fiestas y verbenas, disfrutando de noches mágicas que se quedarán en nuestro recuerdo, viviendo actuaciones musicales que nos cautivarán o con degustaciones de la gastronomía más peculiar de la zona. Y ahora este verano llega muy completo, con una agenda festiva que no te puedes perder, así que reserva algunos de estos días en tu calendario para pasártelo en grande.
Una de las opciones de ocio más llamativas por su amplia variedad de espectáculos en la calle, actividades y ofertas lúdicas para toda la familia es el Festival de las 3 Culturas de Frigiliana, que finaliza este domingo 26 de agosto, un evento donde la cultura, su rica gastronomía, la música y el teatro van de la mano, aunando las culturas cristiana, judía y árabe que dejaron su sello en esta preciosa localidad del interior de la Axarquía y que exhibe durante estas jornadas con orgullo.
Para esta edición, donde se esperan alrededor de 40.000 visitantes, se habilitará un mercado artesano de mayor extensión que en años anteriores, desde la propia plaza de las Tres Culturas hasta el parque de Andalucía con alrededor de 150 puestos, así como animación en las calles y por primera vez la iglesia de la localidad será escenario de actuaciones musicales. Los conciertos de este festival también son uno de sus mayores reclamos, contando con Memorias de Sefarad Trío, Eliseo Parra y las Piojas, Vocal Sampling y Carlos Jean, Kroke, Dj Beatz, y Mali Oumou Sangaré.
Muchos de estos eventos nos permiten disfrutar de los platos de nuestra tierra y una bebida refrescante, con almendras, ajo y uva, muy característica de nuestra tierra, es el ajoblanco. Si hay un pueblo que lo prepara de una forma especial y que le rinde homenaje es Almáchar. De hecho, el 1 de septiembre nos sorprende con este plato en su particular fiesta, ofreciéndonos degustaciones por distintas calles y actuaciones musicales, una excusa perfecta también para pasarnos por este precioso pueblo del interior de Málaga.
Y si te apasiona la magia y el misticismo, apunta en tu agenda los días 7, 8 y 9 de septiembre en Carratraca, con su Festival de Embrujo Andalusí, donde más de 25.000 velas y antorchas iluminarán sus calles por la noche, mostrándonos un marco incomparable en el que experimentar en distintos talleres como cetrería, henna, danza del vientre o caligrafía árabe, el zoco de artesanos y sus espectaculares pasacalles por esta pequeña localidad de la comarca de Guadalteba.
Este verano también puedes disfrutar de otro municipio como es El Borge, el cual también te brinda una fiesta con sabor y color, el Día de la Pasa, el 16 de septiembre, donde poder acercarte a su historia y conocer la elaboración de este pequeño manjar, así como probar estos dulces frutos en los distintos expositores.
Y para cerrar la temporada estival que mejor que pasarse a degustar el exquisito boquerón victoriano en Rincón de la Victoria, en una fiesta en la que se estima que se puedan repartir más de mil kilos, tanto fritos como en vinagre. Este año será durante los días 22 y 23 de septiembre en el paseo marítimo, frente a la Oficina de Turismo de la localidad, donde habrá conciertos, degustaciones gratuitas y muchas actividades de ocio y gastronomía.
Outstanding events for your summer agenda
The local fiestas and night-time fairs, or verbenas, are one of the charms of visiting the little villages of our province. The magical evenings when we listened to the live music and tried the local food delicacies will always be remembered. The agenda for this summer is full of things you cannot miss so make a note in your diaries to go to some and have a whale of a time.
One of the most lively options, because of its street entertainment for all the family, is the Three Cultures Festival in Frigiliana that will be held on 23, 24, 25 and 26 of August this year. This is an event where culture, delicious food, music and theatre join hands, to link the Christian, Jewish and Arab cultures that left their mark on this pretty village of inland Axarquia and which Frigiliana shows off proudly.
Forty thousand visitors are expected this year. The handicrafts market will be extended from the Tres Culturas square to the Parque de Andalucia and comprise some 150 stands. There will be street entertainers and, for the first time, music performances will be held in the parish church. The concerts are always the main attraction and performers this year include the Memorias de Sefarad Trio, Eliseo Parra y las Piojas, Vocal Sampling and Carlos Jean, Kroke, DjBeatz and Mali Oumou Sangaré.
Many of the events will give us a chance to sample the local dishes and a refreshing drink called ajoblanco, made with almonds, garlic and grapes that is a characteristic of our summers. The version made in Almachar is a very special tribute to this dish that has its own special fiesta there on 1 September with tastings and street music, making it a perfect excuse for a visit to this charming inland village.
If you are a fan of magic and mysticism, make a note in your diary to visit Carratraca on 7, 8 and 9 September for their Festival de Embrujo Andalusi, a festival of ancient Andalusi bewitchment. Twenty-five thousand candles and torches will light up the streets at night and illuminate the booths offering falconry, henna hand painting, belly dancing or arabic caligraphy, the handicrafts market and the spectacular street processions that parade through this little village in the Guadalteba area.
The summer is also the moment to visit El Borge when the village holds it colourful, not the mention ambrosial, fiesta known as El Día de la Pasa (Raisin Festival Day) on 16 September. Make a date to visit and learn more about the history and preparation of this tiny delight and try the different raisins on offer.
Finally, the last of our summer fiestas is an opportunity to taste the very special anchovy or boqueron victoriano from Rincon de la Victoria. An estimated thousand kilos will be distributed either pickled in vinager or fried. This year it takes place of 22 and 23 September on the seafront promenade opposite the Tourist Information Office and the programme includes, concerts,free tastings, and many other food and fun activities.
